Perawatan tali pusat dengan metode terbuka
Abstract
Neonatus are newborns up to 18 years old. Tetanus neonatorum is caused by Clostridium tetani which enters through the baby’s body through the only entrance, namely the umbilical cord. This can occur when the umbilical cord is cut when the baby is born or during treatment untul the umbilical cord is detached. Therefore, umbilical cord care that does not meet health requirements is a major risk factor for neonatal tetanum. Treatment methods for the umbilical cord vary widely, ranging from modern treatments using antiseptic ingredients, and traditional treatments using breast milk, ghee oil (India), dill honey. Since 1998, WHO has recommended the use of dry or open treatment for umbilical cord care to make it safer, easier, cheaper and more practical. Open umbilical cord care is the treatment. The umbilical cord was left open and not given dry gauze or other antisepics.
